Lisa has been a Quality Management Systems Lead Auditor since 1996 and a Certified Quality Management Systems Lead Auditor with RABQSA since 1999. In addition to her QMS Lead Auditor status, Lisa spent the years from 1997 – 2004 as an authorized QS-9000 Assessor with the AIAG Supplier Quality Requirements Task Force. Lisa has conducted hundreds of Certification Audits in various industry sectors such as: Basic Metals and Fabricated Metal Products, Printing, Manufacture of Coke & Petroleum Products, Chemicals & Chemical Products, Rubber & Plastic Products, Machinery & Equipment, Electrical Equipment, Manufacture of Motor Vehicles, Transport & Storage, Not-for-Profit, Municipalities, Project Management Firms, Retail, Wholesale, Health Care, Social Services, Professional Services, Engineering, Design Firms and Travel Agencies.
In addition to her Lead Auditor status, Lisa spends a significant percentage of her time as the Lead Instructor for a suite of ISO 9001, TS 16949, Process Management and Quality Management courses both for Accredited and Non-Accredited programs.

Lisa has been employed with The ISO Edge since its inception in July, 2002. In addition to being one of the company’s founders she also acts as President. Lisa is responsible for Business Development, Research and Design, Advisory Services and delivery of ISO Edge training courses. In her position, Lisa has overall responsibility for the maintenance of the QMS used to administer The ISO Edge’s activities.

Lisa has successfully assisted, advised and provided training for hundreds of organizations in their implementation or improvement efforts of their Quality Management Systems and Occupational, Health and Safety Management Systems.

Prior to The ISO Edge, Lisa was the National Sales Manager for an international Certification Body where she worked since 1994. Her responsibilities included management and coordination of sales activities for Canada, auditing both ISO 9001 and QS-9000 internationally, tutoring for the training department and sitting as a member on the North American technical committees for process design, improvement and new product offerings. She also acted as the Key Account Manager for the Canadian clientele.

Over the past two decades, Lisa has gained specific knowledge and experience working within the automotive industry through auditing and advising a variety of organizations including but not limited to: brake parts (including drums, rotors and friction components), rolled and stamped parts, plastic components, assemblies, springs, platers, anodizers, surface treaters and steel processors.

Lisa’s specialties are management system implementation, integration & improvement, process management and improvement, quality management systems auditing, and training.

Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Honours) in Sociology and History from the University of Guelph, Canada.


Gary B. (Buck) Pennington began working in Occupational Health and Safety in 1988 and in Environment and Quality since 1992. Gary has been a full-time, independent, Management System Facilitator and Consultant for the past 13 years. His experience is in the development and facilitation of Quality Management Systems through a broad range of government, service and industrial organizations.

Gary’s most recent projects include:

Assisting an Ethanol Plant during construction in developing its contractors safety management programmes.

Working with a highway construction and highway maintenance company in the development of its integrated management system of ISO 14001 and ISO 9001

Working with a tubular products manufacturer in integrating its OHSAS 18001 system with its current quality management systems

Conducting external/internal audits for a mining company and for an engineering company

Gary facilitates RABQSA Lead Auditor courses for one of the world’s largest registrars in ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 and ISO 9001 across Canada and has completed RABQSA Lead Auditor courses for ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 9001.

Gary is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) and member of the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals. He is a Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC) and member of the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering (CSSE).

Gary is a former contract instructor for IAPA WSIB Certified Joint Health & Safety Committee Member Part 1 and Part II courses. He also taught the Surface Miner Common Core course for the MTCU. He has been a volunteer instructor for: Safe Boating Courses for the Canadian Power and Sail Squadron; The Industrial Accident Prevention Association Young Worker Awareness Program: and The Greater Belleville Safe Community organization

Gary has a diploma in Business Administration from LoyalistCollege and a trade qualification from the military as a Communications Systems Technician.


Lari has been providing environmental, heath and safety and quality auditing and training services, for over 15 years. He has conducted several hundred registration and surveillance audits of companies, to various management system requirements. Lari is a Registered Lead Auditor of Quality under the IRCA scheme. He is an EMS Lead Auditor, and was one of the first Certified Environmental Auditors in Canada, both under ECO Canada Certifications. Lari was one of the first Certified Health and Safety Management Systems Auditors in Canada under the Auditing Association of Canada (AAC). He is also a Professional/Chartered Chemist with the Association of the Chemical Profession of Ontario and a Certified Training Specialist with Langevin Learning Services.
Lari provides hands on direction and coaching services to clients in the quality, environmental and safety fields and has directed a number of clients through implementation of management systems to International Standards. He has also developed and implemented management systems (including a national award winning environmental management system) and internal auditing programs for a variety of clients and employers to assist them in achieving and demonstrating compliance to management system requirements. In addition, Lari specializes in the optimization of existing management systems, to increase efficiency and effectiveness; and waste management systems to reduce costs and environmental effects. He develops and provides training in management systems, conducts health, safety and environmental legal compliance audits and provides assistance and information for legally required government reporting.

Lari has extensive environmental and safety experience (>25 years), including twenty years in management systems experience in the manufacturing, utilities, chemical, waste management and public sectors. He has previously fulfilled environmental, health & safety and quality duties within the plastics, chemical and automotive industries, regional and provincial government, and on-site environmental services companies. He has provided a number of employers/clients with the development and presentation of quality, health, safety and environmental training programs, including OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 Lead/Internal Auditor training, WHMIS, Confined Space Entry, Respiratory Protection, Site Safety, Environmental Awareness & Due Diligence, Chemical Handling and Emergency Response.

Lari has also been directly responsible for waste minimization/diversion programs and waste/scrap product and customer development. He has held supervisory and management positions in several companies. Lari has had experience in landscaping and grounds/lawn maintenance, including chemical application.

Lari holds a Bachelor of Chemistry from the University of Western Ontario, a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety from Conestoga College and a Diploma in Legal Office Administration from Fanshawe College.


Paul has been working in the Quality field since 1982 and has held every possible position in the Quality Discipline. Throughout his career, Paul has been responsible for the full development and deployment of Quality Management Systems in the plastics, ink making and metal stamping industries.
In 1984, Paul was hired by Fry Copy System to revamp their Quality system to ensure that there was complete traceability throughout the organization. Within one year, the system was documented and in place, serving the company. During 1985 – 1993, Paul worked as a Quality Coordinator, Quality Engineer, and Quality Supervisor in the plastics and metal stamping industries gaining valuable hands on experience in each of those industries. During this time, Paul acquired on-the-job knowledge working at a heat treating facility which also did Zinc Dichromate plating and phosphate and oil. He also conducted supplier development and liaising with all types of suppliers. He dealt with organizations that performed chrome plating to steel mills that in turn provided the coiled steel for stampings. From 1994 – 2009, Paul worked at Cam Tool & Die as the Quality Manger and the TS-16949 Manager responsible for implementing and overseeing the Quality Management system in three facilities. Paul is now working as an independent Quality Consultant and ISO 9001 QMS Auditor.

Paul Graduated from Humber College in 1982 with an Electro Mechanical Engineering Diploma and in 1986 he received his Quality Certificate from Ryerson University. During his career, Paul acquired theoretical and practical knowledge in the following automotive areas: APQP, FMEA, MSA, Internal Audits, Continuous Improvement, and Quality Management Systems (QS 9000, ISO 9001, and TS 16949). He recently took the SAI Global Training RABQSA Certified ISO 9001 Competency Based Lead Auditor course and completed it successfully.

In addition to implementing Quality Management Systems, Paul has a strong background in the technical areas of Quality. He is fully conversant in blue print reading, GD&T, and specification writing. Other areas of knowledge include, plating, heat treating, and both injection and blow mold plastics. Paul has working knowledge of most of the measuring equipment utilized in manufacturing such as CMM, hardness testing, plating thickness, and all hand measuring devices.

Paul brings 25 years of Quality knowledge in both the Automotive and Non-Automotive industries with the focus on creating and deploying Quality Management Systems in diverse fields.
