Management Systems now include Climate Change Considerations

In a joint communique, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) have announced an amendment to many of its Management System Standards to include requirement(s) to consider climate change.

ISO has made this bold move to demonstrate its support for the 2021 London Declaration to combat climate changes through standards.

This historic amendment was passed by resolution and resulted in two new statements of text added to the following management system standards plus many more:

 These amendments are effective as of February 23rd, 2024, and there is no planned transition for their implementation.

Certification Bodies will be issuing notifications to their client-base describing their approach to integrating these new requirements into future planned audits.
