Propane Torches and Heaters Safety: CH02
This half day training covers both types of equipment and includes practical demonstrations for hands-on learning. This course can be split if only one topic is required (torch-only or heater-only).
This TSSA-accredited safety course is offered exclusively in-person by a certified instructor and is designed for individuals who work with propane torches and heaters in a construction setting.
Participants will gain the knowledge and skills needed to safety connect, activate, operate, and disconnect propane torches and heaters.
The training includes:
Properties of propane
Relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
Hazard identification and risk assessment
Safe work practices and procedures
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Emergency response protocols
Equipment safety features and safe handling procedures
The course concludes with a written test, and a minimum passing grade of 75% is required to successfully complete this course. Upon successful completion, participants receive a Record of Training (ROT) certificate. The CH02 certificate is valid for 3 years after which will require renewal.
The course may be delivered as a stand-alone session, or bundled with other safety training programs.
A Non-Construction / Non-TSSA version of the program is also available upon request.
